Morrison's Supermarket rant II

I went into the local Morrison's today, pikesville or what! Gone totally downhill from being a Safeway store and that's some acheivement.
Health & Safety would have a field day, they have crammed the main wide central aisle with pallets of crappy special offers so no one can get past, one slow person with a trolley holds everyone up.
Their planning is shot to s**t, they have split the food sections in half with a couple of aisles of Tesco-style home improvement crap and not-so-cheap DVDs. Marketing I know, it get's you to walk past all the garbage so might get the impluse sale but it just exagerates the main aisle problem above.
When it was a Safeway store if you went to the basket only till they packed your bags for you, you now have to do it yourself. I know most do this but when a service is taken away you miss it.
And............WTF is it with people and queues these days, there are two tills for baskets yet there is only one bloody queue, they are queuing in the middle of the two.
Pick one and stand behind it FFS. I very nearly walked past all of them to one perhaps saying "well you're queing for the other one aren't you?" but the Neanderthals grunting two places down would probably have reacted the same way a lion would if you tried to have a bite of his zebra chop.

At work, we like to make it more interesting by using jargon. For example, an outwards facing shelf on the end of an isle (or "a to z" as we call them in the music retail business) is a MEO, or metal end-on! Ohh errr!

Or indeed supermarket aisle strategy, unless they are buying up islands now as well
Morrisons is destroying what little brand image Safeway used to have quite effectively. I happily shopped in Safeways for many years but will never again set foot in a Morrisons if I can help it.
Does anyone else think the logo looks amazingly cheap and tacky?
Our Safeways morphed into Morrisons late last year and to be quite frank, apart from the fact that I can't get applewood honey roast ham any more, not that much has changed. The food's pretty good, the clientelle is about the same as any supermarket in Milton Keynes save perhaps M&S, and they don't sell clothes! Means I can get the shopping done without having to hang around for hours while the missus tries yet ANOTHER pair of black trousers!
I think Morrison's is great 
They took over the Safeway in Headingley: now its loads cheaper and exactly the same. The big out of town one is fantastic. Pile up your trolley so stuff's falling out and it still only comes to £8.94 The Leeds town centre one is a bit cramped and full of students but its great for free town parking. And they do Morrinov 
vodka for 4.99 a bottle. Taste's like hairspray but gets you wasted just the same.

I popped back to Aylesbury tonight for a couple of hours and theres a Morrison's where there used to be a Safeway near the train station.
It looked like pikey-central... like Nevin said the logo is a pile of
and it just looked horrid. I have no intention of going!
Although my local Sainsburys is pretty crap at the moment... no tills open and always understocked...

Yup. My local Sainsburys is full of boring sods who are rude! There was one guy who always used to insult Sainsburys, his fellow staff members and generally moan about everything. He was a great laugh to be served by. He's gone now... wonder why...
I must admit, i cherish going to the States and having a "Hellow Sir... can i help you" and "Have a nice day". It's like being served by Robots in the UK these days...
