I reckon that they have a good sound but there material is repetitive. The musicians play the right notes, with the right sound and they hit the spot and that's it. Then they do it again, and again, and again, and again. I heard a tune on the radio, I thought "Damn, those guys are good", after a few listenings, they lack the spine tingle factor which comes from truly excellent composition.

at the mere mention of their name. Everything that makes their sound has been done better by somebody else, many times before. Their whining omnipresence on TV music channels has allowed Bryan Adams to be replaced as the soft rock artist whom I detest the most, although when they slide by the wayside after a second album which is disappointing to even their fans (or their fans simply grow older by a year and listen to some decent music), Mr Adams may be returned to his exalted position, for historical reasons.
