After watching a program on the World water speed record from the 1930's onwards I found it amazing that not only had the speed not gone up by much since Campbells day but also Ken Warby still holds the record at 317mph that he set 25 years ago, a similar speed though that Campbell was acheiving when he unfortunately crashed.

But on googling the subject I have found two new projects One British (hooray!) and one American currently trying to break the record.

The Spirit of Gar Wood, Sir Henry Segrave, Kaye Don, Sir Malcolm Campbell, Stanley Sayres, Donald Campbell are still very much alive in the people trying to take the goal.
