Have it on now, saw it last time though. it's a great pity that it needed a Danish person to "have a go" at these bandits, more power to his elbow I say. The prices and service on the regular carriers are a disgrace. Small wonder that Britain is known as "Treasure Island".

Didn't all the old companies get stuffed when Eurostar first came along, then Eurotunnel realised they'd be better off bumping the prices up along with everyone else. I couldn't believe how much a eurotunnel ticket for lemans was. Seems they sell all the cheap tickets to travel agencys/bulk buyers as I've seen trips to lemans including the hotel that weren't much more!

Strangely enough, Radio 5 was discussing Eurotunnel a little earlier, seems that they are now in hoch to around 20+ Banks with no future profit in sight because of the debt. They did say though that the Banks have, in all but saying so, written off the debt.

Living in the North, I used to use the Dover - Zeebrugge or Ostende services as they had cabins. This meant I could drive down after work, have 4 hrs sleep on board, a breakfast and another 6 hrs driving. In their wisdom they dropped the cabins when the Tunnel started up. Biggest business cock up they ever made, the only benefit they had over the tunnel, they scrapped. Now they only serve those who are within 2 hrs drive of the port.

Sally Line used to operate services out of Ramsgate.

Whatever happened to them?

Dunno

Transeuropa used to be just frieght/pasengers but now they have started the cars. It's a long journey (4 hours) but the same price as a Dover-Calais crossing and gets you further north if that is where you wanna go.

if you watch it closely, there is a white / light grey tuscan too on the car deck.

Why not contact Speed Ferries and offer them free advertising if they get some car stckers sorted.....

They disappeared shortly after the Sally Star caught fire in mid-Channel...
I recall using their boats a few times; always worried me that the lifejacket lockers had padlocks on them.

If you can afford the F355 , then you could afford to take the Chunnel.Car ferry decks and sports cars don't mix that well.

Personally I hate the chunnel. Its so tedious standing in the train the whole time whilst in a seacat you can sit in a more comfy chair and have a coffee + bacon sandwhich!

True, but my E30 M3 just about gets of ferry ramps without ripping the bumper off.a fezza .....

I used Speed Ferries last year for a trip to the Nurburgring . A group of us made the trip out together and they wanted to use the Chunnel .Fri-Mon would cost something like £180 return .

I booked a day return with the Chunnel to stick with the group at about £30 .Speed Ferries are happy for you to book a single ticket from either end and don't try to you over like the ferry companies do ( they charge almost the price of a return for a single) so I booked a single back from France at about £36 .

I saved over £100 over a return fare with the Chunnel and after the drive from the 'Ring to the port, it's nice to be able to get on a boat , grab something to eat and relax before the final dash to home.

The service was very good and the price even better. All booked via the net and hassle free. Will defo be using again .

It wouldn't take many journeys to be able to afford a Ferrari on the savings!

Then we're all agreed then. All we need now is a London bypass. I'm going via Hull next time, what I save on fuel can go towards the fare. Not to mention less chance of being zapped on a shorter journey.
