What a pleasure to do business with them.
Set my heart on a bean to cup expresso machine a little while ago, spoke to a very helpful rep at my local John lewis store who pointed me in the direction of the web site www.gaggia.co.uk
Found a reconditioned one half the normal price, ordered online and was told to expect four weeks for one to become available for delivery, anyway one arrived within the week.
About two months later it stopped working properly, quick email to them and they sent a courier to collect it the next day. Today they delivered it back just like they said they would, all working again.
Marvellous service.

It's instant, switch it on it grinds the beans, tampers the coffee, dispenses it straight into the cup, then you just press the button again, for the next cup which is immediately dispensed in the same way.

Voyds - that's the slighly later version of the one I have. I'm prepared to admit that grinding your own beans is cool, but to be able to choose a variety of coffee at will and get the perfect espresso in no time flat, with no mess, is bloody marvellous.
The customer service is also very good from Nespresso: had a missing widget with my machine and I just phoned up and got it a couple of weeks later in the post, no messing. Refreshing, these days...

We have the Syncrony Digital automatic model and have had the same great experience of their customer service as you. It broke down after we'd had it for about 14 months (having bought it in Germany) and they sent a courier to collect it, repaired it and sent it back a couple of weeks later. Two years on it's working perfectly.

Just ordered a new batch of capsules, the last ones were 12months old and still fresh!
Our Gaggia has just broken down, I think it's the solenoid, but it is almost 4 year old (and interesingly has risen in price since we got it!) and has been used 3 or 4 times a day every day.
They will collect, repair and deliver back for £65 which isn't bad at all, even if the part does only cost a few quid.
They were very quick to respond.
They'd get my custom again.

I too have an unfeasibly pricey Whatsita in the cooking area.
It has been used thrice in several years but I must say, does make exceedingly frothy stuff.
Aren't the Italians experts in making people spend silly money on stuff that's barely used?

See now that depends on what you like in life.
Bit like optimax, you KNOW its better, yet it costs more.
Some people can taste the difference, me included.
I love to get up on a weekend morning stick on my filter coffee machine for a proper cup of coffee, none of that instant crap. So mine would get used 3 times a week, however, I have no money to buy a proper coffee machine, got a russell hobbs thing.
So I just go to work and use that one there
There is something different about mains plumbed machines, the pressure is far better.
