Dutch Justice?!?
Discussion
Read in Telegrpah this morning that a Dutch armed robber has been allowed to offset the cost of the weapon he used to rob a bank against the size of the fine he has been given as it is a 'legitimate business expense'. The judge also said he saw no reason why a drug dealer could not do the same with the vehicle used to transport drugs to customers!

I always take goings-on in Holland with a pinch of salt. TBH, Holland always strikes me as the Channel 4 of Nothern Europe - most of the time it's intelligent and cultured, sometimes it's just plain daft, and beyond certain limits it might as well have a disclaimer.
Fascinating place, but edgy - I'd always be on my toes for something unusual happening.

That's why I love it there!
The Dutch are great, the lifestyle is good and as long as you keep away from Rotterdam it is safe and friendly too. I would move to the 'Dam or Den Haag in a flash. The 6 months or so I worked there were excellent.

You weren't unfortunate enough to be working for a manufacture of ice cream and other frozen goods were you? I had the misfortune of being stuck on Scheikade for a bit (sp??) Out of U Street, all is running nicely now as back to being end user. Back to UK & ABAP fun soon?

Yes, I had the misfortune of being parked above that Peugeot garage too. At least the ice creams were free!
Back to UK tomorrow as it happens and start new job just up the road from before. No more ABAP though!
