Don't you just hate junk post..

My new favourite trick - is to stick a label of with #
return to sender - They have moved !

My junk post seems to be slowing down - I have even sent a few abroard - opening envelope to get the address .. mind you I might really have been a million air but who cares..

I like to think that the post office charges them for the return and they then remove my address from the junk mail list .. but either way I live happy in the knowledge that the junk mail goes to piss someone else off other than me

Anyone else got any funny things that make you feel better

Mate of mine works for a company that sends out junk mail, whenever they get stuff returned in their own envelope marked 'Gone away' etc by folks who think they are being clever, they add the name and address to ALL their databases for ALL their mailshots and also add it to the master list that they sell onto loads of other mailing companies. Result being the returner then gets more junk than ever.

Only joking.

Ive now started telling the late night telesales callers the Mr njw has moved/gone away/died. That normally does the trick.

Some smartarses then try to tell me that I must be the new homeowner and that they need to talk to me instead. I repeat that Im just having an affair with the lady that lives here, that normally stops them dead in their tracks.

Whenever you sign up for something, use a different initial/first name/middle initial etc. This way you can see where the junk mail companies get your address from.

Apple's email service allows aliases to do the same sort of thing. I use an alias for one company, and if I get spam to that alias, I know who to blame.

One of the guys in our office collects it all and waits for one with a return envelope, postage paid, in it. He then stuffs it all into the envelope and posts it off to them Don't think it reduces the mail, but the recipient probably gets charged for the extra weight of the letter.
