Just found out our landlord is getting divorced, they are going to sell the property and we are on a six month rolling contract, so it looks like we will be out in six months time.

We pay a smaller rent than is typical for anything in this area.So looking at my options

1.rent a dump
2.Buy, not a serious option as im not a "key" worker
3.Beachy head

Life just gets better

Oh and the TVR will almost certainly have to go

Oh Mate, Im so sorry Surely you'll find a way to keep the S, otherwise what will you polish?? Why not rent something you can afford for a while, and make some kind of plan. Easy for me to say being self employed, but Ive always been a believer in the ol "where theres a will theres a way"

If you do come down beachy head way, give me a call... I can be up there in around 2 minutes

Ive always been a fan of positive thinking. For what its worth, decide what you want, nice car, nice place, expect it will manifest itself and it often suprisingly does What a shocker though

I thought Beachy Head is now patrolled by volunteers who are trained to help dissuade you from jumping.

Sorry to hear your news Pies

I actually used to do samaratin work (phones). Funny though, living just down the road from europes biggest suicide spot. Theres a phone box up there, outside the beachy head pub for jumpters who feel the need to talk to someone. The taxi drivers locally also have have their own code, which they use to alert jumpers to the police.

I was actually offering to come and watch colin jump though

If it`s option three, wait until Feb 27th and join us on the A23 blattt. We are going past Beachy head, so at least you will arrive in style!

Bob......Would the BH Hotel or the Birling Gap hotel be a suitable place for PHers to take refreshment? If not, do you have any suggestions locally?

Forgot to add, sorry about your predicament, but as everyone has said six months is a long time. It all works out in the end.

As already said 6 months is a long time and I don't suppose you've had your 6 months notice yet in writing, AFAIK the clock will only start then.
Life has a habit of guiding you in the right direction IMHO, one door closes another one opens.

If the Tiv does have to go at some point and you are looking for a motor to polish for the hell of it give me a shout .

Look at it in a positive sense. It could be your chance to get up and change. Everyone seems to be complaining about how crap Blighty is, so since your being forced to move, why not move out of the country.

Yes, I know it would be hard finding new work if moved out like that, but just another way to look at it.

The beachy head pub is ok for a hoon, lots of small 'not much parking' pubs around here, but their car parking space takes a few cars, plus 20 metres down from the pub is another car park (for general hikers etc) big enough for maybe another 40 cars, I think(!?) Pub menu is harvester style, range of both main meals plus smaller snack meals, and theres a nice drive through, over and around beachy head plus east dean, lots of nice country lanes, winding down the hill (nice views in palces) for a hoon through eastbourne town centre, then some speed over the bypass (not very long bypass but its ok) and at the other side of eastbourne plenty of parking can be found at the far side of the asda/marina car parking area where more refreshments can be had, the harvester being big enough to take a fair few people.

Youll be ok. I lost my flat and ended up spending a year in my parent's caravan/office with my gf. Not plesant. Now we are renting our own 3 bed place and are doing much better. Life throws this crap at you sometimes, you might find that after you come through it, you're that little bit stronger...

Pies - really sorry to hear about your news mate. I'm sure that things will get better soon and you never know, your landlord might not even have to sell the property. What ever you do, please DON'T consider Beachy Head as an option, it's just NOT worth it! After Giselle broke off our engagement recently, I thought about it to, but I just couldn't do it because my family would never forgive me.

Belive me the good time's WILL come again and as everybody else has said, six months is a long time and anything could happen. Just try your best to think positive.

Pies,

Do you not have any rights as sitting tenants ?

Six months is a long time in life too - and Beachy Head is a big NO NO - think of the poor bastards who have to clear the mess up.........

Get some advice (from Cit Advice ?) about the lease situation before "jumping" too conclusions.
