I'm rather keen on buying a budget LCD panel to replace my portable TV. It'll be fed from a cable box, so I was wondering if there was a simple Svideo/Scart/RGB to DVI/SVGA type solution. Is this doable, or do I need to fork out for a proper LCD TV with built-in tuner?

There are a few LCD monitors with built in tuners or something like this might be the answer www.gameseek.co.uk/productdetail/PCe8txbm62j099v34w/

Cheers, that box gives me the tuner part, which I don't actually need - I suppose I'm after a Scart/Svideo to DVI converter - do they exist?

For some perverse reason they're more expensive www.keene.co.uk/pages/cat/13con/13F.html . That box with the tuner has s-video connectors on the back so should work perfectly. There are a couple of threads over on www.avsforum.com on this very subject.

"VTB-101 Picture in Picture video to XGA Scaler should do the trick" Give the guy a call - he's very helpful

I bought an XGA threatre box a year ago, that allows me to switch monitor from TV (aerial), DVD and computer

The dogs bollocks and doesn't need a fancy TV monitor. Cost approx £100 (inc VAT)
