Sure you're not thinking of the film "Deathrace 2000", also starring the same?

I think you're referring to the 1976 film "Cannonball" (see IMDB entry) and released as "Carquake" in the UK.

(I only know this because it is on IMDB and not because I know the film)

As far as I can see, this is not Deathrace 2000 even though they both star Carradine and Stallone.

I remember being allowed to stay up and watch this on TV when I was young (yesterday!!). IIRC it's your basic hoon across the US in a couple of Camaros or suchlike to win the bounty at the other end. Thought it was great when I was about 10, haven't seen it for years though. The DVD was in Virgin when I went in there last but I wasn't quite tempted...

ta,

I have this on DVD, I assume its the region one version as it is called Cannonball, someone said the UK version is called something else.

Its billed "From Los Angeles to New York there is hilarious, non-stop action and reckless abandonment" Its a more serious film than the later Cannonball Run films, people get shot, are run off the road crash and die, fist fights etc.

Same basic idea road race across America for a cach prize. If your a petrolhead then you will appreciate the driving bits but I would not reccomend the film as a whole, the Cannonball Run, Cannonball Fever, Gumball Rally films are more watchable
