200 indicated to Walk of Life at 8 in a rather special Lister Storm, crossing the Scottish Border after a fantastic very early breakfast at West Moorland. What's even better is that it was a rather major figure in the RAF driving at the time. I don't remember a thing about it though except the guitar breaking in as we crosse the border. Possibly the greatest moment in my life.

Metallica - Sanitarium... i 'think'.

Metallica definitely makes me drive faster... so i normally put some classical music in the car instead!

GrahamJ and I were talking earlier about Rammstein being the worst music to drive to... as it is guaranteed "bye bye license" music

That and you can't headbang safely in a car...

On the way to Oulton Park to the Gold Cup about three years ago. A very strong headwind saw the Punto touch 100, though the engine sounded like it was about to tear itself out of the bonnet. The song, IIRC, was Pardon Me by Incubus. Well, I distinctly remember flooring it, watching the needle slowly climb round the dial, overtaking trucks, while belting out at the top of my voice "So pardon meeeeee, while I buuuuurst, intooooo flaaaames!" and hammering out the drums on the steering wheel*

*an awkward trait I seem to have picked up subconsciously from my Dad, who listens to loads of solo-heavy '70s Prog Rock in the car. As such, the entire dashboard becomes a drumkit for him - palms of the hands on the wheel for the bass, fingers on the top of the instrument binnacle for the tom-toms, and tapping the air vents for the hi-hats and cymbals!

So with only four decent songs to choose from, the pedal must have been up and down like a whore's drawers...

When I was 15, I hit 100 for the first time in a friend of mine's 1972 Chevy Rally Nova (click here for a description of the AMERICAN Nova)

I'm sure the cassette player was either on Van Halen's Running With The Devil or the Scorpions the Zoo as it was 1978/79-ish and those where our theme songs

Probably Bat out of Hell in my 1967 Jaguar 420, a while ago now. Didn't she used to shake and rattle at those speeds?

Happened on a bike for me!!!!

Around 110mph on my Bandit 600 to the tune of wind billowing and my engine screaming at 8000rpm in 6th gear! (Still had another 4000rpm to go)....

Not to mention the feeling of being ripped off from my arm sockets! (For those who don't know....the bandit 6 has no fairing!)

Can't remember the tunes, but one of the first times was my grandfathers Austin Princess 4litre, he had just been told to stop driving because of general senility and was sat in the passenger seat telling me to floor it.
Two or three days after passing test.
Year would have been '78 car was an F reg IIRC
