Hope the northerly winds don't slow her down too much.

Can't even begin to imagine how difficult this is to do & what she's been through in the past couple of months.

Her video diary is hilarious as well btw.

Macarthur. More like Scottish or northumbrian in origin (although she is from Derbyshire)

I don't care where she was born, with a name like that and the guts and determination she displays, she's Scottish through and through!!
Utterly fantastic!

I completely agree, absolutely fantastic achievement, I have real admiration for her and the way she has got to where she is all on her own.

I will be out there in the Laser 4000 to see her back into Falmouth weather permitting. With any luck she will get in sometime on Tuesday afternoon then I only have to miss 1 hr of lectures

I was covering the ORMA60's at la Trinite last season. Here is a link www.sailshots.co.uk/ORMA60.html
These are 60 footers with a crew of about 10, how she manages to sail her 75 footer singlehanded beats me.
I certainly wouldnt want to detract her performance in the slightest but I wonder how much time the 2 weather routers she has used have saved her,a benefit that Joyon didnt have

Ah, but Joyon had a longer/faster/more powerful boat.

Break the record or not this week, our national pride should know no bounds.

From sailing her 23' Coribee round the UK to sailing one of the most sophisticated multi-hulls ever built around the world, this woman has shown time and again what, with will and effort the human condition can achieve; to use her own catch phrase "A Donf!" Ellen!!

They could make some nice gardens in Falmouth (or somewhere) dedicated to her..............

.....they'd call it MacArthur's Park.
