My doggie needs new insurance and i'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good insurance company for my Pedigree chum, before hitting all the internet sites for quotes (i've had a few, aprox around the £180 mark)
Thanks for any help/advice.
A boring answer Im afraid as Im tired and sadly lacking in whitty retort:
Direct Line! Fast, Efficient, pretty cheap and they dont mess you about on paying out should the worst happen. My four dogs are covered with them and I have unfortunately had cause to claim on several occasions, absolutely no fuss at all!
Tesco insure my moggies, great claims service but will only pay for a maximum of 12 months for an individual condition. If you can find a policy that pays indefinitely it would be worth considering IMHO. As an example, my cat is diabetic, his medication and syringes cost me ~£50 pcm.

Thanks Just tried them and they said "We only insure your first pet breed under the age of 6 years" which is weird as the drop downwent up to 8 years, she is 7 Years

Bu88er exactly the same thing, not too surprised I suppose being they are basically the same place.
Anyway just tried moneysupermarket.com and it has come up with the following, but i've only heard of AXA , Argos (anygood?) not heard of the others
Thanks for your more sensible suggestions though

Sorry mate - I hadnt thought of the age thing. All my dogs are relatively young so its not become an issue yet. I will have a further think.

No problem, thanks for the suggestion though, I should have mentioned it anyway.

we use petplan and they are great especially if you have recurring problems, unlike a lot of the others they have no maximum payout limit for each claim, so like when one of our dogs got pancreatitis (1k a week!) we didn't need to worry about it
Another blank but thanks anyway - Petplan say "We regret we cannot insure dogs of this breed if they are five years old or over."

I think the people that do my public/employers liability (as brokers) deal with animal stuff (they certainly have a good name in horsey stuff).
Try Millin Insurance (www.millins.co.uk) 01257 463161
Highly recommended.

damn that's a shame that must just be for new policies with them and not for renewals
