My wife's face is swollen?
Discussion
2 things.. PH'ers
1.
3 days ago my wife (30) noticed swelling under her jaw on both sides. She saw a GP who suspected mumps and told her to stay at home for 5 days (no treatment).
She has no symptoms at all, and the swelling is worse. She called him and he is not sure it is mumps??
Any clues? She feels fine, but looks like Shrek!!
2.
This all happens on the day I collect my RX8, so I'll soon be skulking off to find rotaryheads.com or something , unless the 8 still counts me as enthusiast.

Keep your GP informed, likelyhood is He'll want to do a blood test soon.
Underneath your jaw is a set of small lumps called lymph nodes. These increase in size to fight infection or sometimes rarely when they themselves become diseased.
Salivary glands just in front of ears are sometimes confused.
If its a simple infection, although sounds a bit odd if she hasn't any other symptoms they will go down in a week or so. If they persist then a blood test needs to be done to differentiate different possibilities. The range of possibilities are a bit too large to be any more exact.
