Is there anything more desirable than a dark green Seven with a yellow nose?

Nope, there isn't, and there's a 1962 dark green SII with a yellow nose, red/white piping seat with 1500 cosworth engine for sale on P.167 of Classic Cars this month (Mike Abbas cars)......
........I am sorely tempted.......

Kris..
I sold my first Seven to Mike Abbas in 1986.
He is only just up the road from me.
My problem is that I just don't fit in the bloody things, not even the long cockpit Caterhams.
Mind you, I've not tried one of these new wide bodied Caterhams....
Be seing you

Just looking around the net about the Prisoner. It turns out the guy who Owned Caterham turns up in the last episode. Hes the guy returning No.6's 7 at the end. he even gives it a little wipe over.
...although IIRC it's actually a different car than the one in the starting sequence... or maybe it's a different one in that ep where there's that woman living in his house.

How does the Griff compare with a 7??
The Griff is a lot faster in a straight line than either of my Sevens, but the TVR's steering is lower geared and vague compared to the Sevens.
The Griff is more twitchy and unpredictable than the Sevens, but sounds miles better.
I used to have an Esprit, which was recognisably a close relation of the Seven, even down to the raspy twin carbs and faultless steering.
I drove an Elise recently, which fell precisely half way between the two.
The Griffith is a traversty of power over traction and handling.
The Sevens, the Elise and the Esprit were all cars that ran out of power before they reached the limits of their handling.
It would be a brave and talented driver that could drive the Griff faster than an Esprit or an Elise.
The TVR is a much nicer drive unless you are at 10/10 on a twisty road, when it is positively horrible compared to a Lotus.....

I think it was cancelled at fairly short notice, so they pretty much made up an ending on the spot. It does make absolutely no sense whatsoever
I don't think it was cancelled. Lew Grade sold it to America, where they prefer 17 episode seasons to our 13. McGoohan would do the extra four, but not another complete season. I believe he was focussing on hos movie career (there's one episode that he misses almost entirely, because he was filming Ice Station Zebra). He and the writer were also under pressure to present a conclusion, rather than just leave it hanging. They hadn't planned that bit, so as you say they had to cobble together an idea.
The final episode starts off OK, returning to the central theme of the needs and rights of the individual over those of the community (the Village). Then he finds out who is Number One, and as you say it stops making any sense.

I read that he took the Ice Station Zebra job to provide the funding the finish the Prisoner. He ended up being pretty obsessed with the series to the extent of writing, producing, directing and starring in it all at the same time.
If you ever get the chance to visit Portmerion do so. An amazing place.
I too own the box set, am a big fan and don't understand it.
I used to watch it when I was very young and had no idea about or interest in cars.
In my twenties I developed an obsession with all things 7 without realising that was the car in the Prisoner until i'd forgotten all about the show and it was repeated on TV .
Some form of subliminal programming going on!

Aye, they don't make telly like that no more...
Brilliant stuff.
I hold Patrick McGoohan personally responsible for me having a Lotus Seven fixation from 1985 to 2001....

Oh
you could be quoting my other half! Guess what colour scheme his 7 is?
