In the 'Days go by' video the dancer is amazing, I would love to be able to string some moves together like this in a nightclub.
Is it possible to actually learn this or am I just gonna waste my time ?. It seems also that black guys have more rhythm and dance fluidity than white guys or is that just a generalisation ?
What sort of dance lessons are available for this sort of thing ?
Oh if you haven't seen the vid I just uploaded a copy to here, Left Clicky, the file is about 15 Mb. Click free and wait for your download ticket then download.
The breakdance guy is pretty good too but I'm really talking about the guy in the whistle.
The other guy I've seen who is really cool is in 'Stand Back' by Linus Loves featuring Sam Obernik.

Try Ceroc dancing, a form of modern jive, quite erotic and dirty dancing at times. You can dance to most types of music, certainly gets the pulse going on the dance floor and usually a hit at the clubs particularly when all the others are doing the two step shuffle. Women love to dance with you and the guys hate you so be warned.

I go to a club night in London every couple of weeks where the dancers meet up to "battle" one another. Some of them have been "battling" each other for 20yrs+
You get the whole lot - back-flips, front-flips, even side-flips. Each dancer seems to have a different speciality - some of them are into martial arts that cross over into dance. The sound-track at the club is heavy jazz, by that I mean the kind of stuff you will not hear on "Jazz FM" (someone should put a fatwa on Kenny G).
Most the dancers who are indigenous to the UK are getting older, 35yrs+, the new blood seems to be the Japanese contingent. If the majority were white they'd probably get a lottery grant, and more people would know about the scene - as it is, it's not easy finding venues who'll tolerate the crowd as they're not into alcohol and need a lot of space (btw, the dancers tend to be very friendly and unpretentious).
One thing to get straight right now is that NO-ONE is going to show you any kind of break or jazz moves - they had to learn the hard way, and you will have to prove your dedication by learning one or two moves before they'll give you any tips. The only means of doing this are by purchasing a large mirror, getting as many videos as you can, and practicing effing hard.

Could give it a blast, would it get me turfed out of my usual nightclubs though ?
Ideally want to come somewhere close to the dude in the video, he's just awesome. Might be a bit of a challenge for someone whose dancing years ago was mentioned in the same sentence as the word 'cardboard'...can't remember what the exact line was. Moved on a lot from there...I think, or is it the beer ??
