Forget all about that manufactured-pap toy awards the Brits consist of (I ask you - best single last 25 years - Gobbie Williams and Lifetime Achievement award - Blob Geldof, funny how that coincides with the the record company's release of the greatest hits compilation!)

God, I hate NME.

It's a dreadful publication and the journalism is utterly repulsive.

As are 75% of the bands contained within...

Smash Hits fan?

In about 1997 I used to buy Mixmag...

Funnily, enough, I stopped buying that in about '99 when it started to resemble Smash Hits a bit too much for my liking.

So, errr, nope.

So what's your choice of the musical press nowadays?

Too true, but they are one of few magazines pushing new music towards a bigger audience.

BTW My little brother writes for 'Bucketful of Brains' and sometimes 'Rock'n'reel'.

Oh and a memorable 'Don Williams Live' review for 'Country Music International' which he tells me he made up because he was so drunk.

I read music week now...

Sometimes I pick a copy of Q up from the staffroom table when I'm on lunch too, but I really do think NME is dreadful. It's about the best example of a magazine with a proverbial head up its arse that I can think of.

The only magazine I buy is Evo.

Ahahaha ha ha ha ha hahahahaha ahahaha!

Sorry. Saw him on Jools Holland. Never heard such a load of talentless crap in my life. Can't sing, can't play, can't write. Next. Famous only for having been in Blur.

F**king music industry. Sucking up to their own.

You can't knock genuine awards such as New Order, Killers and John Peel etc a much better representation of people who really have and are making a difference to modern music.

The website is far better, allows you to read news without having spaff-rock crammed down your throat. The editor of the rag is a total cock, just pushes hot new bands to a pinnacle then knocks them down when they fail to be 'the next u2'. It would be ok if they backed people from the start, but they only started supporting bands like bloc party, the killers and franz after they achieved mainstream success...

Do any of you know www.drownedinsound.com ? that is a decent magazine, albeit a net one....same goes for wwww.artrocker.com

And as for the awards, the killers shouldnt have got all, seeing as Brandon 'I'm Coming Out' Flowers cant sing a note live.

When I track down the person who invented awards programmes, I'm going to nail him/her in a box and drop it in the South Atlantic.

A more tedious, boring, nauseating exercise in self adulation is hard to imagine......

So there......
