I dont think its funny in the slightest that a bunch of people got a kicking for staging a peaceful protest.
"WHEN 35 Greenpeace protesters stormed the International Petroleum Exchange"
peaceful? I love it when these unwashed dole scrounging trouble makers get a kicking
It is fair enough if someone thinks it is not amusing, I guess that the question of the tread is just asking whether we find it amusing or not. Not whether we read the Guardian or not
(no offence intended to any of the parties here)
I think it is funny, it would make a great sketch for a comedy in a "Life of Brian" way. Much as I dislike violence, and I think it is appalling that in a "democratic" society we still have to protest or defend ourselves with our fists, all this happens in any kind of protest/demonstration. It seems to me a bit puerile that they never thought they'd get attacked though...
Edited to add - Now that I think of it... it reminds me of that Playstation ad where the stockmarket people have a go at the glof players or whatever group it was in the savannah...

So they trespassed in order to protest about something presumably after other avenues had been explored.
Given the recent clarifaction on burglary laws if someone trespasses onto your property you are not allowed to use serious force to remove them unless you are in danger or suchlike.
So explain to me how it is lawful for these trespassers to receive a kicking when they did not use force themselves? why is it ok for them to get a kicking just because they are Greenpeace?
And i dont read any newspapers, becuase they are all full of complete biased trash. My opinions are my own thanks.

It just goes to show what a myopic bunch of no-pointers protesters are though doesn't it.
We had a similar thing happen at the hunt a while ago, a bunch of rent-a-thug's pulled a young girl off her pony and usually hunters turn the other cheek and ignore these people, but human nature being what it is they got what was coming to them, most amusing!!!
They probably thought, as was probably the case in the article above, that a load of "toffs" would stand back and let them force their opinions down their throat, they got a shock then too.
If this sort of thing happened more often, then maybe these people would grow up and get a job.
