Due to a monumental lack of planning on my part, I find I have to wash and iron my own shirts. Normally I drop them off in Morrisons and they return, ready to wear for a measly £4.95.

Just got to the ironing part. What a ballache I shan't be ironing again for a few years

Bloody turbo steam iron my arse. Seven shirts done. I will mostly be taking my shirts to Morrisons again from now on.

Thing about me is I'm so damn fussy about ironing I find I prefer to do it myself, 'you've got to use the right tool for the job Beavis' my iron is a Bosch steam generator which is the business and a decent ironing board.

It also helps if your shirts are iron friendly, seen a lot of supposedly 'non-iron' shirts come and go but the best at the moment I've found are Next's technocotton, says on the packaging 'practically irons itself', well I still iron them but it doesn't take long.

What you need to get is a press. Saves hours in ironing. "Er in Doors" said so

What sort of boost pressure have you got the iron running at? Increase the boost slightly, new induction kit (K&N filters etc.), remap the ICU (iron control unit)and you'll fly through the ironing. Its advisable to upgrade the flex and base plate at the same time, otherwise you'll stack it trying to press those shiney dinner jacket trousers!

I don't even own an ironing board, always struck me as one of those completely pointless tasks, you spend ages taking the creases out, pop it on and within two seconds creases again.

I bought one of those funky-doodle Tefal irons with the enamelled non-stick non-drip non-spit baseplate thingy.
It uses an internal seal between the water tank and baseplate that is eviently not up to the temperatures involved. Stand iron on end, water leaks from seal, runs down to electrical connector. Main RCD for house goes phut, total darkness, computer gone, trip over bike and boxes of tiles en route to electrics cupboard, stub toe, scream like a girl.

Why bloody not.

So now I get Julie to do it...

then you too will learn that women cant iron shirts, fine if you want "rail tracks" down the arms, else do it your self, this is , of course based on my own personal experience.
I have yet to meet a woman who can iron a shirt properly.
