I use them but have never had to claim so I can't say if they are any good.

I've used these guys in the past for aerial stuff but I know they specialize in scuba diving as well.

Yes, indeed!
For starters, 30m is useless. Let's say you saw somthig at 32m, dipped down to see it and came back up. 2 dievs later you got your leg eaten off by a killer stickleback, or whatever. Insurance company will say "I'm so sorry, not only were you wearing a pair of blue fins (and our policy clearly states you can't in Section 43, Sub Section 27c, Paragraph 34.04d) BUT you also went to 32m two dives prior to your accident. I am afraid your insurance is void."
Take out a normal travel policy that covers for cancellation, curtailment and all the other stuff, and also take out an annual policy with DAN (Diver's Alert Network). www.daneurope.org is the site, if I am not mistaken, can be done on line and costs about 80 of those ghastly things they use on the continent. DAN will cover for medivac for both diving and no diving related stuff, chamber costs etc etc.
Hope this assists...
Cheers

Good point Jim about the 30m limit, I've certianly drop the extra couple of meters before now and, as they say, insurance companies don't get rich by paying out claims willy-nilly!
I'll check out DAN.
Cheers again guys, much appreicated.
Phil.
Where you off to Phil?

I would seriously recommend joining DAN to every diver. When the brown stuff hits the fan they do not ask silly questions, they just do all the right things and fast. They have the vast knowledge and experience of diving emergencies that nobody else has. No other form of insurance can possibly give you anywhere near the same protection. Just do it.
Agreed, DAN are the only outfit I would use. They are professional (well as professional as recreational diving gets
) and have good lines of communication open to the real proffesionals when things get horribly mucky. They are certainly the best of a bad bunch and as good as it gets in that light weight shandy drinking diving world of holiday makers looking at pretty things once a year
