I Almost got terrorised by neighborhood kids!
Discussion
I Just jumped into the car to drive the 200 yards to the shop, as you do here in MK.
I was confronted with a group of backward glancing mountain bike riding tracksuit wearing coffee bean shaking youths making little effort to get out of my way.
The last one to get out of the way did so with a very impressive flourish, he popped a slow wheelie with his front wheel almost above his rear wheel and cruised up onto the pavement in impressive control considering the angle.
I got eye contact with him as I drove past at 15mph with him still perched precariously and I smiled and clapped at his efforts, I wish I could do that stuff!
Naturally they all took offence and chased me down the street at 15-20 mph giving me coffee beans in the rear view mirror
until I pulled into the local car park and they they stopped and turned around....to wait in ambush as it turns out
As i approached my house again two mins later the three musketeers all rode out in front of me from a hidden driveway again offering me some golden blend.
Rather than telling them to piss off I decided to try and communicate with them and save myself future grief by offering up "that was a
ing sweet Wheelie dude, I wish I could still do that shit
" As I pulled onto my drive
Scrote 1: "I thought you were being sarcastic, thats why we chased you"
They all stopped giving me coffee beans and gave me thumbs up and went away smiling!
Lets hope thats the end of it.. they know where I live now...

Ah...lovely MK...two chaps decided to mug me in the carpark of Xscape about 5 years ago quite late at night. Well dressed, very polite, nice kitchen knife as well! I have to say they didn't fit a single 'who I expect to get mugged by' stereotype at all.
Hedders - that's how I always deal with groups of lads round me, maxpower drivers etc... always seems to have the exact right response

I have to admit, I wouldn't hang out in central MK at night. I only moved here six months ago. My house is only 1/2 a mile from X-Scape but it is a nice quiet part of MK and nothing much happens here. :fingerscrossedsmiley:
I went out to the 'designated drinking zone' in MK last summer with my cousin and I was confronted with hoards of unshirted drunken youths and tottering slappers and a seriously heavy police presence (which made me feel a tad more convinced I might get out alive).
Never again.

Nope, sounds like you've just earned yourself some "protection" You're now classified as an older, but still cool bloke
i agree with the pragmatic tactic - have done similar myself in past: this generation of kids is NEVER verbally let alone physically reprimanded so if they think someone is doing so or even thinking it, they become even more yobbish, when in a pack - basically we are all (myself included) saying that we are "scared" of spotty kids, with hooded sweatshirts, on mountain/bmx bikes.
so, imagine how the elderly feel?
by the way, i doubt they weren't giving you "cool dude/thumbs up" but rather expressing "yo, another geezer scared of us and what we MIGHT do to his property."
sorry, but from personal experience i believe that to be their true psyche.
now, that's rather worrying.
hi ho.
