Where to buy a cheap tent?
Discussion
Now I'm not really a skinflint, but I want a cheap weatherproof tent for Le Mans. The cheapest in Halfwits is £38 - I'll pay it if I have to, but I know the PH massif wil come up with cheaper elsewhere won't you????
All I want is the typical 2 man jobbie, and packs up nice and small.

38 quid? you could pay more for a plastic bag, skinflint.

I bought an excellent Vango Delta 300 last year for 50 notes. A little more than you might be looking to pay, but it's 3-man, excellent quality, thoroughly waterproof, very spacious, easy to use, a decent colour (grey/black) and available at most decent camping shops. Save a tenner or so by buying online (like I did). :thumbup):
Oh, I bought a double-sized air matress from the laminated book of dreams for a tenner, made for an extremely comfortable nights rest.

ASDA, Morrisons, Argos - all have supa cheap rubbish tents that will do the job for the price of a small round of drinks.
Mine has done two Pistonfests, a LeMans and a couple of other nights here and there. It's crap; I know it, but it's somewhere to kip and is just about dew proof
And you can walk away from it any time if you are feeling in that sort of mood
The double airbed I put in in cost more.
Make sure you try it before you go on holiday. Working in Argos for the last 3 summers in Penzance it's amazing how many people we get back looking rather sleepy explaining they've just come down camping and their tent leaks or is missing parts etc.
To be honest i wouldn't want to deal with the muppets that work in Argos so would go to Millets.
Cheers,
Rob.
