And tell Tracey Emin where to shove her bird on a stick. ![]()
See, this is what the public want. Something accessable, something that doesn't need the fancy words and philosophy to excuse the lack of real artistic inspiration.
The truth will out, and the lofty hights the turner institute (sorry mr turner, at least you could paint) has elevated it's protege to has made such an opening
Shame all the money is in shitty beds and abhorted sharks.
The guy most certainly demonstrates a special level of spatial awareness which could be classed as genius. He obviously has complete affinity with his minds eye, which is fundamental to the demonstration of good technical reproduction.
That isn't the sort of thing anyone can just do unlike Emins' bed, etc. It would be interesting to see what the guy could produce as a thought provoking piece.
I'm a massive believer that insight as well as skill are fundamentals of good art. I like the blokes work, it makes me feel like a spatial awareness pygmy. That's a good thing. The "Wow" factor.

That's amazing. I'd love to see more of this. It's the kind of art I like - both extremely clever and completely unpretentious.
What annoys me though, is the chavs who've been told by Liberal Democrats that graffiti is art, so they coat the neat-looking wall of the local railway station with 3D 'tags', and because they've used lots of colours, no-one will clean it up, despite the fact that every wall in your town looks like the cover of a crap R'n'B album.

Found it at last...

Why can't graffiti be art?
Because graphiti is when a bunch of glue-sniffing clearasil-abusing gene-pool-sludge dwellers spray "TRACY SUKS C**K" on the side of your garage.
I beg to differ. A graffito is simply a drawing or writing in a public place (such as fence, wall, etc).
Like anything, there is attractive, well thought-out and artistic graffiti and mindless, glue-sniffing pointless graffiti.
There are a few books I've read (some years ago now), one of which I recall was called "Spraycan Art" (which featured artists such as Seen). It changed my perception significantly.
