Any of you see her do Black Horse & A Cherry Tree on Jules Holland last year? Was fantastic - just her & a guitar plus a few other instruments, but she built up the song/backing track by sampling herself as she went along, looping it, and adding new bits - was awesome. Anyway, bought her album off the back of her performance of that 1 song.
most of us did - that was her breakthrough if you like.
Problem is the music "directors" got hold of the track and decided to release it as a single and pretty much destroyed it. To me that track showed the pure talent of KT and how she could produce a great song from virtually nothing.
The single has taken all the elements that she did and mixed them up making it very much a studio song, which it was never designed to be and hence doesn't sound that good.
Personally I still think the song would have had airplay if it had been left as it was and the video was something along the lines of Jools Holland, just her playing the song. Maybe in a different location (i.e. on a mountain with just her, amps & speakers) but none of this commercial crap

Have to agree with you there Doc. Not impressed with the single at all. Album version is so much better. Seeing her do it live (in a couple of hours

Well apart from the production, the structure is intact.
Its her party piece, she won't disappoint
No disappointment, apart from beiing barely over a 45 minute set, rounded off again by the achingly glorious Throw Me A Rope. Has to be one of THE love songs of modern time
