Michael Schumacher has admitted that he gives his children under £2 a week pocket money.

His children would have to save a long time even to afford to buy themselves some of their father's official merchandise.

I used to get 50p a week. Don't think schumi is too tight... he gave/gives an awful lot of money to charity...

shirley a reasonable amount would be enough to encourage them to save a little, spend a little on sweet treats, maybe a magazine too? to perhaps encourage them into basic money management?

No, if you read the article I think it does actually look at it light heartedly (like me) and its a bit tongue in cheek.

There again, his kids are 16 and 18.

Because most people 'give' to assuage guilt or court popularity. It's fashionable. Whenever there was a major disaster pre Michael Buerk 1984, did we all run about throwing money left right and centre? No. It's a modern phenomenon.
