In the depths of my house building time, I had a touch over £15K moving periodically between interest free cards.... Difficult times.

Selling a house, walking into the bank and paying off 2 mortgages and the credit card in one go was a nice feeling however.

I put my last 2 cars on credit cards. 1% cashback, then switched to Interest free cards for 9 months, 0% balance transfered again, then moved onto a 2.9% for the life of the loan card.

Total interest was only about £40 per £1000 over 3 years

AFAIK the bloke who runs moneysupermarket.com managed to offset his entire mortgage to 0% in a similar manner...
