They're also going to punish kids caught joy-riding with free go-karting.

They're reminding me of the Brunstrom 'murderers prevent deaths' joke from Sniffpetrol now. I don't think even the most whiney lentil-chomper will agree to free go-karting for young car criminals. What kind of message is that? Nick a car and we'll help you drive it away faster next time by teaching you some motorsport skills?

I may sound Nietzschen with this comment, but someone needs to realise that behind every car criminal their is not an Yvan Muller in waiting, ready for a glittering career.

Besides, they're in for a shock if they do - I can't see there being many jobs going in motorsport and fast cars if the Lib Dems get in

I think the Lib Dems crime strategy involves using strongly dissaproving stares, and in some extreme circumstances, tutting while looking disapointed.

Reminds me of a very old cartoon that came out at the time of Mussolini's invasion of Abssynia, where the league of nations are presenting Mussolini with the rhyme

"We don't want you to go to war
But by jingo, if you do
We shall issue a joint memorandum
Suggesting a slight disapproval of you"
