Reading Half Marathon - tomorrow
Discussion
I know it’s a bit cheeky but what the heck - it’s all for a good cause!
I’m running the Reading Half Marathon (13.2 miles) this Sunday for The Bobby Moore Fund, which is administered by Cancer Research raising money for bowel, testicular and prostate cancer. Should be fun in this weather – not! If anyone wants to sponsor me it would be really appreciated – every little bit helps.
So in case anyone's feeling generous I have created a web page where you can donate money at www.justgiving.com/greenbear justgiving administer the payment so I don’t have to worry about collecting money plus they sort out the gift-aid tax rebate.
Thanks and all the best!

Thanks guys it was a real struggle (mainly because it was my first 1/2 marathon for 6 years
) but I was pretty determined to get round, knowing I was raising around £230 for cancer research was good motivation. I’m a bit sore this morning but it was worthwhile!
My result was : No 8265 Richard Branch M45 2:24:48.
Thanks again Rich…

Jesus 2hr 25 minutes....did you walk it? How old are you? ......only kidding well done. Does the route still finish at the Rivermead sports centre? I did 1hr 45 minutes as my best time when I was about 30.
i) I know it's slow, my PB was 1:35 at Wycombe when I was 38
ii) I had both my legs hacked into (surgery) 5 years ago and didn't think I would walk again let alone run
iii) No it finishes in the Madejski stadium (Reading FC) these days - tedious drag out on the A33 and round Green Park office estate. Cheers Rich...Gassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
