Not feeling too bright at present. Had a talking to from my boss this afternoon. Apparently people have commented on the fact that I've not been myself recently ... my attitude it seems is bringing other people own. She knows what my problems are at present ... yet it seems I'm supposed to leave it all at home or outside of work. Not sure I can do that ...

What problems? Well ... not much really. A very close friend is in hospital at present at deaths door ... leukaemia ... I had it as well same strain, went through the same treatment as she did ... last time I saw her she was fine now .... and I can't help but see myself lying there. I know its irrational ... my counts etc are fine ... but I can't help it. She's in ITU now ... and I'm waiting for the call to say she's passed away.

On top of that I've been treated like shit by a bunch of so called friends and my job has really become frustrating.

Christ this is depressing. Not too sure why I'm even posting this.

Some times it's good to talk, even to strangers. (and there's plenty strange on here)

Can't imagine what you're going through. All I can say is when life is tough, I focus on the good stuff, of which there is lots.

Terrible, no wonder you are depressed. This life is not a trial run, it is the only one you are going to get. So make the best of it, if you don't no one else will do it for you. Shit happens and sometimes you need to be very strong to see your way through it. Things will get better, but they will get more better and sooner if you have the right frame of mind. There are some excellent self help books which really may be a big help to you at the moment.
As for friends, you talk about a bunch of them. You never get that many true friends in life, so just value the ones that are true and don't let the others get to you. It is their problem, not yours. Your boss sounds good and supportive so you can talk to her regularly on how things are going. This will help your whole work thing as well as being a fairly neutral person to have as a sounding board.
Do some positive things. Get some exercise, go to the cinema, read those books you always meant to, look up some long lost friends, get away for the weekend, etc. Filling your life like this will leave less room for negativity.
Come to Pistonheads and have a laugh.

Yep. Keep in there, you're not alone.

Someone posted a thread about depression a while ago and I was crying inside. It's been a bit of a ride recently and on a downward direction for me, I lost my job today........and the rain is coming down, oh yeah.

There are a lot of people in the "life could be a lot better" boat so take a seat and make the best of it. We're all here to support you if the shit hits the fan. The site is full of good people.

One thing is certain, if you are too miserable, go and see the doc about it. I got strung up with the taboo of seeing the doc about my mental health, it happens to everyone, doctors as well. You will feel a lot better getting it out.

Stu. (here to help)

Can't offer any advice but can say from experience from talking to talking to people on here helped me through a very difficult time last year.

It almosts feels better when your talking to strangers that won't judge you or what your feeling.

The support your will receive (and have already!) from this thread, makes PH what it is!

Best Wishes,

All the best.

Any consolation, but i'm not having a great time at the moment, as i'm sure millions of other people aren't either. I know sometimes it is difficult to motivate yourself to get out and see family, but it really does help.

And look at it this way - things can only get better, and they invariably do Chin up

Thats a difficult one, it seems rude of your employers to take an uncaring view, but I guess they want the best out of you, I would say take some time out, but then you will only dwell.
Tommorrow you will go back to work just a little more positive than you are right now, any altercation (is that the right word?) at work will make you down. People will pick up the slightest change in postiveness and respond to you.
Best of luck anyway.
And to Gaz, Stu and Greg

Better to share it and have a bloody good rant than to bottle it and explode later...

If work isnt being too understanding take a couple of days off to get yourself back on track, dont thrash yourself into the ground!

All the best to you, and to your friend!

Indeed, can't help it though, its partly due to my condition that I feel so low... Ho, hum, I'm bound to be ok again tomorrow.
