Just sat and watched the first episode of the latest Dr Who series.
That'll please the BBC; viewing it before it's been premiered on the telly, you naughty person! What's the quality of script and set design like in comparison to the old studio-bound version?
Hanging my head in shame here but I can't remember watching any of the original versions so can't really compare like for like but I thought it was good light hearted entertainment which was very easy to follow.
This episode was set in London and the special effects were very good. (One slightly dodgy bit involving a wheely bin though)

Sounds worth watching. Was it a 30 minute episode with story to be continued, or a one hour series with the story plot resolved?
It was about 45mins long. The main story plot was resolved but with a slight overlap. (Trying not give too much away!)
The overlap might be because its the first episode and it is setting the rest of series up.
It seems there's a leaked copy on the web somewhere:

Guess it will be on TV soon then

Cool. Funnily enough, I just did a search and found the same torrent. I'll phone home and ask my wife to kick it off...

I watched it last night. Very impressed! Not sure about Christopher Eccleston yet, his Doctor seems almost autistic.
I thought Eccleston was really good (I've been after a leather jacket like that for ages) and there is definitely something about Billie Piper. (You so would
) I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC leaked it on purpose to drum up a bit of interest. I only found the torrent when I read there webpage and found out the episode was called Rose.

I actually quite enjoyed it, nice light hearted and funny.
Ideal Sunday night TV (Don't know when they're planning to show it though)
Well worth a watch!
No use asking me. I'm still hiding behind the couch!
