Real Music, John Mayall, 70+ and still going

Not necessarily for the youngsters here!?! 
Saw John Mayall last night in the JazzHouse in Freiburg, last saw him in '68 in Salisbury, but he's got even better! His hands are so arthritic you'd think he can't do anything, but still plays keyboards and guitar like a 17 year old! and yes, I've followed his career and got all the records!
Played a gig of 90 minutes with some new stuff from his 70th birthday tour and some of the really old stuff...fantastic!!!
His new guitarist is BETTER than Clapton, and Clapton learnt everything with the Bluesbreakers..so where is this guy going (sorry no name, my grey cells are failing but an obese American with a southern accent who plays a dream guitar!)
All I can say, real music, not the modern techno, or whatever they call that electronic crap nowadays!
GO and hear him if you've the chance!!

There was a 70th birthday party gig with JM & the BB, with Eric guesting, on one of the sat channels about 6 months ago.
Sounded very much like the original band, quite good, but very much in the British Blues sound, which I find a little turgid - plenty of better bluesmen around (IMHO).
Went to see Albert Lee a week ago, fantastic technical guitarist (in his 60s, been playing since the 60s), a little bit too country/rockabilly for my liking, but he also had Pete Wingfield on piano (anyone remember 18 with a bullet?) - best rock'n'roll piano I've ever heard played. His hands were so fast they appeared to have a stroboscopic effect - in normal 50Hz lighting.
