Also reported in the Metro today.....
45 dead porpoises - many with Jaws sized chunks ripped out of them - have been washed up on local Tyneside beaches.
Marine scientists believe a Mako Shark which can grow up to 12ft and weight 1,000lbs may be responsible for the attacks.
No swimming in Geordie land for the next few weeks then..........
Also a 5 meter long crocodile weighing a tonne which is believed to have eaten up to 80 people over the last 20 years has been caught alive in Lake Victoria, Uganda.
Wonder what they are going to do with it?

Shortfin Mako are the fastest of all sharks, to achieve this thay are one of the few warm blooded sharks which gives them the necessary metabolic rate.
Crocs are nasty. The saltwater variety kill and eat thousands of people every year. Unlike with sharks we definitely feature on a croc's diet. In central Africa there was an explosion in the croc population during the Rwanda civil war and it's attendant massacres. Hundreds of thousands of dead human bodies were being thrown into rivers and lakes giving them a glut of food.
