PH meeting anecdotes

I'm fairly new to PH so don't really know any of you. I gather from many of the posts that quite a number of you know each other personally and I'd be interested to know how, and if there are any amusing (or otherwise) anecdotes you have about first meeting face to face, and did peoples posts give you much idea of their true personality when you actually met them in person?

I must add, I was quite nervous about meeting 'internet people' too, but the Surrey lot turned out to be a cracking bunch. I think it's a good indicator that we rarely reverted to the failsafe topic of cars.

Seems that cars aren't the only common fascination....hic....
