You know what? - I'd never buy it.

But it does smell nice.

Only today did I see it in the supermarket, lifted the lid off for a quick whiff!

I quipped to my better half, "who buys this?"

As I span round, smiling, the guy behind scowled at me, bent down, picked up said spray can and put it in his basket!

Presumably it was either Kevin Keegan or Henry Cooper?

I was always a Hai Karate man...

No wonder I ended up with a white Esprit and a turquoise Jeep...

Yep.

But these days they do the same to get away...

That's probably because you've run out of Toilet Duck.

That was the exact use my mum came up with for it, when I was given a Brut Xmas box set.

Brut aftershave making a comeback

Glasgow, Scotland, Jun. 2 (UPI) -- Brut 33, the 1970s British aftershave endorsed by superstars who "splashed it all over," is staging a comeback under new ownership.

Souter Healthcare, the new owner, plans to re-launch the brand on Father's Day, the Glasgow Daily Record reported Wednesday.
The question, however, is are Britain's males ready for Brut 33, which was once promoted by icons such as boxer Henry Cooper, footballer Kevin Keegan, and motorcyclist Barry Sheene.

Scots-born beauty product marketing expert Alistair MacDonald says, "Times and tastes have moved on. Men are more sophisticated and take grooming seriously. But you can't blame the new owners for trying. The market is awash with established brands. It'll be a tough battle out there."
Brut, after its huge marketing success, eventually was overtaken by Obsession For Men, Polo, and, more recently, Gucci For Men.

Susan Deasy, Brut's marketing manager, said: "We think there's a good opportunity to make a brand synonymous with the 1970s into a credible male grooming brand for today."

I think some of the Lynx brands smell familiar...

And they are also manufactured by the same companies as above...

Gotta say it's all about marketing.

Some years ago I had a couple of Norwegians stay at my house. They purchased a suitcase full of Blue Stratos products to takehome.

Apparently Blue Stratos was a very sought after brand in Norway and they couldn't believe how cheap it was over here.

So there you go.

In about 1975 my father's receptionist gave him a Brut gift pack for Christmas.

It still exists - in my mother's garden, about 2 feet down
