Fiddling with knob when younger
Discussion
Things you've done in the back of a car
Did anybody else do this?
When I was still at an impressionable age and I had to sit in the back of the car, I would pretend to steer the car by turning the window winder knob (the round bit) as Dad drove.
Is this unique to me or did anyone else do it?

I had a steering wheel which stuck with suckers to the window
My nipper had one of these when I was out trucking. Bay seat strapped in the wagon with a couple of ratchet straps and off we`d go.
Best thing was it was a LHD truck - the look on the grannies faces when they looked out of an overtaking coach`s window to see a 3 year old piloting a heavy was priceless!

Unfortunately dropped me in the mire on a few occasions..... Picture the scene, Mum has come round to see her cute little grandson "ahhhh he`s just so cute etc etc etc" With that he gets into his pedal car, grabs hold of the wheel and shakes it from side to side shouting "
,
,
" at the top of his voice. Me..."Don`t know where he gets it from", exit stage left!

When my Mum was learning to drive, the instructor's car has another gear stick in the rear stuck on the transmission tunnel just behind the front seats.(the car was a Ford Anglia 105E) i used to think that was sooooo cool. (i was only 6 at the time.)
I remember the shock I got when I lent forward whilst my mum was in the shops and pressed the button on the floor in her Mini......
For those too young to remember, it's the starter button -and I can't remember if it was in gear or not, but it certainly worked with the ignition off!!
