Any ideas on a realtively inexpensive, out of the country getaway this weekend? It's a surprise birthday treat for a lady......
As it has to be out of the uk, and it's for a lady, there shall be no trips to the Oxo tower (vixpy1!).
Was thinking of Amsterdam or Rome, but I can't seem to find the cheap-as-chips flights that a lot of my mates go on about all the time.
TIA

Well, the women's mags are recommending Turin at the moment at £90 for a weekend for 2 (www.newwoman.co.uk)
Flights - www.ryanair.com - start at £27.42 inc. tax (Stanstead to Torino Caselle Airport)
Hotel - chic and cheap - www.hotelpiemontese.it - £62 for a double per night. In the heart of city centre, close to Via Roma, main shopping area. Italian shoes oh
To do - National Museum of Cinema, Holy Shroud, the Piazza Costello fountains, local speciality non-alcoholic drink (Bicerin) of coffee, chocolate and cream
Might be worth investigating further.

You could try Martin Lewis' cheap flight checker to see what it comes up with.
