What 1970's car game was this ?
Discussion
I used to own a game which I'll try to describe to you.
It had a steering wheel and attached behind was a large plastic circular landscape with a road all round it. When you pressed 'go', the landscape rotated.
There was a car with a magnetic strip underneath it which sat on the road. By using the steering wheel, you could move the car (via another magnet underneath) as if you were driving through the moving landscape.
I'm sure I didn't dream this.
Does anybody know what the game was called?
It was ACE !
IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT ANSWER, WHY NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE THREAD ANYWAY BY DISCUSSING OTHER CAR RELATED GAMES YOU HAD AS A TOT ? IF YOU HAD NO GAMES, YOU MAY WISH TO TALK ABOUT YOUR FAVOUTIRE TOP TRUMP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT?

I have (or had if my girlfriend hasn't thrown it away) something very similar to this.
It was a black box about 9" long with a little steering wheel at the bottom which is directly attached to a little flat plastic car. The road has cars and trees etc on it and moves towards the little plastic car. You also have a gear stick which controls the speed at which the scenery moves towards you.
I'll try and dig it out and post a pic.

I had something very similar as a baby in the '80s - front end was made up to look like a Ferrari (Testarossa or F40, can't remember which), but the back had a light-up 'screen' with a car shape behind it, which you controlled with the steering wheel and a 'hi-lo' gear stick, and as the lanndscape moved towards you you had to avoid all the other cars and bits of scenery, and the road turned a bit as well. Best bit though, was the button on the dashboard that flipped up and switched on the pop-up headlights at the front of the toy.
In a similar vein, anyone remember those early '3D' LED games from the '80s that looked like a pair of binoculars and usually involved shooting things?
