I've put an old towel rad in my bathroom (£180 old vs £400 new) that looks pretty damn nice.
Trouble is, there are two very minor leaks when the system is fully pressurised. When the pressure drops slightly (within tolerance levels), the leaks stop, but at worst they're only slow dribbles. The leaks are at 2 joints on the chrome piping, very easy to get to.
So, I plan to take the chrome off each joint, depressurise the system, resolder each joint, and then it should be fine.
Question is, how do I re-apply the chrome?

Just get some of that funky chrome paint and slap some over the joint, you can't rechrome unless you send it off for treatment

Remove the rad, seal the connection holes and take it to an electro-plater and get them to strip it and re-chrome.
To be honest I would not trust it at all if it is already leaking. Should be able to get new ones for less than 400 but maybe not the style you wish for.
