Every now and again a company rings up wanting something more expensive than ususal. They rang, I was told what they wanted, but I wasnt in happy-clappy I love people more than life itself mode (very unusual for me) and I lost the sale within 90 seconds flat. Estimated loss in 5 figures, based on personality conflict.

Whats the world come to with everyone so bloody hypersensitive to other peoples tone of voice, you have to be arse licking your way through life to get anywhere in this country, even achieving more than a grimace from a shop keeper is tough nuts these days.

I spend my life listening to clients problems, woes, troubles, negative tones of voice and Im forever helping them, always happy to give them hours and hours of my time and good nature but the one bloody time I pick up the phone and dont sound like Im on cloud9 myself ends up loosing what could have been one of the better clients of the year. I lost a client in the same way once a few years ago, never again though!

Let me reinsert my arse licking prtothetic tongue (which is controlled by the broomstick I'll have to shove up my arse) and get back to my day

I remember actually seeing a guide to speaking on the phone once. It had all sorts of stuff in it about being happy and smiling since it's reflected over the phone. It's true enough though

I know mate, I always do and am forever in good spirits, have spent a lifetime making other people grin The one and only time I pick up the phone sounding as if Ive been interrupted happens to coincide that client who said he wanted 5x the usual services.

I'll be here smiling so hard my face might split in two, if anyone wants to give me a bell to find out
