Driving back from work.

Fairly high-speed blat down a country road with lots of twists and turns, rises and dips leads to a far narrower section of road which isn't really wide enough for negotiation at speeds exceeding 40mph (not without being all over the road anyway), so I tend to back off and just enjoy the secenery. It's always nice but today there was still light, and there was a lovely smell in the air; sort of like fresh grass cuttings.
Nice...
I'm rambling, but hey! More wine, anyone?

Took yesterday off and headed down to Exmouth. Took 3hrs to get down there from Aylesbury. Went down via the M4/M5 and came back today along the A303.
Lovely and relaxing even if the speeds were on the high side of 70mph all the way (Expect slowing for villages etc). BUT what is it with all the NSL suddenly being dropped to 50mph?!? I have to admit I ignored them and treated them as NSL as were most people.

Some great driving today
Was working in Sutton this morning, and Sevenoaks this afternoon and evening.
Had a great blast down that NSL road between Warlingham and Westerham with the sunroof open basking in the sun, and on the way back flew up the NSLs round Badger's Mount.
The T16S really is brutally quick when on boost. It leaves most mundane machinery trailing in its wake now, what the hell must it have been like 20 years ago when it first came out!?

It seems to me something that started on the Motorway standard A roads in and around London.
It just breeds contempt for speed limits-at certain times of day the road will be either free flowing or clear, you are on a three lane road, with a central reservation, isolated from any possible pedestrian access-and the sign is telling you to do 50-yeah right.
The biggest margin I have ever exceeded the speed limit by is on such roads.
