Went to Salsa the other night..........OH MY GOD!!

Went to a Salsa night in Devon on Saturday ( that's the dancing variety not the dip).

Blimey! After a 1/2 hour lesson, Cuban band came on and, CHRIST!

Dancing? More like groping!

Had the best night I've had in years, met loads of great people, some nice women and really surprised myself how much fun it was.

If you're single, it's a great way to socialise.

Anyone else been?

A mate of a mate went along with the sole purpose of meeting girls to take out but failed miserably, admittedly he looks like Shrek except greener so maybe that's why.

Yep, the girls get fedup dancing with each other. I've got a couple of friends who do salsa. Just never go to a proper nightclub with them....

I went once, with wife and friends. Couldn't do it. No co-ordination and couldn't take my eyes off this bird in front with t-i-g-h-t snakeskin hipsters on. I was following her backside and tripping over my feet all the while getting rabbit punched in the ribs by 'wor lass.

Watched "Shall we dance" at the cinema yesterday. I was pleasently surprised. It was a good film, and worthy of 90 minutes

i went to the norfolk version, but it was just a plate of mango chutney on a wobbly table being shaken by an old man with mild parkinsons. salsa dancing? pah! you can keep it. plus, there was nary a bird in sight.

I did Ceroc (French Jive) for a while and enjoyed it a lot. Anyone at BTaP 2003 might have seen Phil & Rivergrrl doing some really good Ceroc and me and my wife doing some slightly less good Ceroc.

My wife kinda likes it but isn't totally keen. She quite fancies Salsa, so we may find a local group and start doing a bit of that.

I've been thinking about this for the above mentioned reasons. So which, Salsa or Seroc?

I got dragged screaming and kicking into a salsa bar after a former g/fs works do, to my suprise, i thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'd recommend any one to give it a go

a friend of mine took up Salsa (for much the same reason as previously suggested - the girls)

He met a very nice Spanish girl and they are now obviously succesfully Salsaing their own style as child number two is on the way!

So word of warning! Take care this can become a life changing experience!

Salsa is more foot work than Ceroc, Ceroc is classed as modern jive, basically the French adapted the US GIs jive moves. I have been Cerocing for over 3 years on and off, its great fun and great exercise.

My horse riding insructor is a salsa instructor also. Its an incrdibly physical form of dancing and good fun.
