on anyone else been bent over by the new shakeup in the forces.
also, why did you, the general public do this to me. i been a good bod, no speeding fines, parking tickets, and i have never been in trouble with the law. i joined up to serve my country (corny i know), but i've just been told that my job is subject to manpower requirements. the way it works now, is that 20 plumbers (armourers) will be required to do 53 plumbers jobs. This is progress?

The general public didn't do anything to you. Either re-train or retire. It's happened before and it will happen again, it's called budget cuts and re-structuring. If your a good little squaddie then there will be no problem will there! If not the dole queue's that way>>>>>
i apologise. my last post was a incorectly worded. what i meant to say was when the PEOPLE decide to reduce public spending, the government decide to reduce my forces spending by 50%. now that means that there are four (count em....FOUR, thats 4 times 2 aircraft) squadrons to defend you from the next airborn terrorists.
what i'm trying to say is, that even if i'm a good 'squadie' /trouper/techie/soldier/guin, i cant do my job anymore. I cant do my job unless i have the support of the government. the people rule the government. if you dont want me to be able to use the skills i was taught, then fair enough and we wont have a HM forces in the not too distsnt. if your think we are an outmoded arm of the government then that is fair enough also. but if you want us here to defend you and we are grounded due to lack of munitions/kit/supplies then gawd help ya.
(by the way. an armourer costs £100,000 for training, which means that all the skills i've been taught are wasted unless i manage to be allowed to stay on for another 5 years)

PEOPLE as you say it have done no such thing-New Labour policy has been to waste vast amounts of money on public services, with the exception of the armed forces-which, despite going into action regularly for Saviour Tony, have been starved of funds. If you don't like it help get the B*stards out.
