While searching, I came across this thread on another forum.

So who gets your vote as best character who is not one of the stars of the show?

I started it, so I get four....

Grouty in Porridge
Trigger in OFAH
Granville in Open all hours
The Major in Fawlty Towers

Actually, best comedy w*nk has to be in Animal House, where Greg can`t "produce" so she takes her rubber gloves off.

No - rent the DVD and you`ll know what I am talking about. Also the bit where Belushi falls off the ladder while looking in the girls` dorm.

Never mind 'The Major' - 'Manuel' was an absolute genius creation.

Fawlty Towers without The Major?

or

Fawlty Towers without Manuel?

A veritable no brainer

Sorry, but the Major was a better character - Manuel was more of a caricature.
