The Most Anarchic Band

Theres been bands which have caused outrage, those which have set out with the sole purpose of sticking two fingers up at the establishment and those which were just plain weird.
So who do you reckon were the most Anarchic band, or to put it another way those who upset the most people
For me its got to be The KLF - they defaced bill boards, hoaxed crop circles, burnt a million quid, took a dead sheep (and buckets of blood) to the Brits, ran string of strange full-page mainstream press adverts, staged a pagan midsummer's ritual and generaly were quite quite insane - oh and white room is a great album!

I currently have the music vids for 3am eternal and last train to transcentral sitting on the server, but alas they are hard to come by

Charlie Parker Quintet.
They were some seriously messed up humans. Severe mental illness, drug abuse, fights, womanising, wearing dapper suits and playing modern jazz after midnight.
They all died really young. Coltrane shot heroin for his gum disease, Powell was whacked in a loony bin and Parker was an absolute legend and smoked/drank/shot virtually everything. What made them the biggest anarchists was that they were all epic musicians. That to my mind is a major offence in todays musical climate. I love modern jazz and these guys are memorable.

I know where you're coming from with the boppers suggestion, but when was 'Trane a member of any of Bird's bands?
Parker's association with Red Rodney apparently made Parker look like a monk such was Rodney's appetite for heroine.
I do think though that apart from the from maybe Miles' first great quintet, many jazz combos relied upon a 'straight man' or two in order to keep the band together and working in spite of some players nature.

Also "The Magnificents" on the 1995 Bosnia Charity album "Help" was the KLF as well!
You have to admire the KLFs attitude though - we've got to the top, had 6 massive hits and a no 1 album in 18 months and bollox to it I'm bored now lets pack this in in the most self destructive way we can come up with

I think one of the most anarchic songs has to be Copkiller by Body Count
Released before the LA riots as a protest about the treatment of Rodney king by LAs finiest, this track
caused Warner Bros shares to plummet. The CD was not simply banned, but withdrawn from record shops completly, and re-released with the offending track removed. Apparently the DA was considering charging Ice-T with sedition....
