I am going to be controversial now
Discussion
sorry dear mr petrolted - I do appreciate the work you do here BUT I do totally disagree with you locking my thread - I pressed post to early before I finshed what I was goint to say and ended up on a client call before I could modify the offending item.
The short version is horse trod on foot, foot swollen - am competing in car event at weekend - needed some footwear recommendations - bearing in mind that the peddle spacing on my car is narrow. Would I be best off in leather shoes? Or I could wear my normal driving trainers which don't support the foot much or I might have a tubigrip thing there. It's only a sprint but?
(Oh and while we're on the subject - slightly suprised at your reaction given the mindless drivel that gets posted daily... catty!)

Hi Coco, to be fair to Ted it did seem like a rather pointless post at the time, although it did make me laugh heartily. Indeed, horses are heavy. As are whales, and Wales, and wheels (well, big ones are anyway).
To respond appropriately to your post, as long as there's no actual fracture to any of the bones in your foot (which you'll soon become aware of when you stamp on the pedals, the pain will probably give it away
) then some strapping will most likely suffice. Tubigrip is a bit gay really and the best thing would be some good tight strapping with a bandage. Not so tight that it cuts off the blood supply (which you'll soon become aware of, the blue, cold, painful toes will probably give it away), but tight enough to limit the swelling and help to give some support. Hope this is of some use
(P.S. I hear that donkeys are heavy as well)

But but but do they come in pink? If they did I would be there like a shot. And given the modified nature of my car I do think nomex shoes would be sensible.
Isn't black the new pink
Anyway the uppers are very soft and pliable so I think they'd be good for your dodgy foot, I got mine from Grand Prix Racewear in chiswick
