A woman was kicked and punched after she tried to protect her dog from another dog walker, say police.
The 31-year-old woman was taking her dog for a walk on The Brocas field off Meadow Lane, Eton, Berkshire, when she saw a couple walking their dog.
The woman's dog, a miniature schnauzer, ran over to the couple's dog, but the man kicked it in the head.
When the woman ran over to speak to him, she was kicked to the ground and punched in the face.
Pc Steve Dowman said: "This was a violent, unprovoked attack on a slightly-built woman.
"She was left badly bruised and shaken, and is now fearful of walking her dog alone."
Police are asking for anyone who saw the attack on 20 March to contact them.

If a mere 1 in 10'000 free citizens are nutters, then in theory we have around 6'000 nutters roaming the UK.
it is not likely to end-and in fact it will only get worse as long as current policies are maintained.
But to suggest the tide cannot be turned if we have the will is simply defeatism and apathy

I've had this happen to me before.
out walking my parents Cairns.. (not the biggest of dogs, maybe cat sized).. My dogs on a Lead.. when someone else's dog will come bounding over and start trying to hump / eat / destroy one of my dogs.
I will pull my dogs away, shout down the other dog, and walk / run off to get some distance between my dogs and the other dog.. BUT.. if it follows, I'll stand no chance of it hurting one of mine, and where needed, ensure its compliance with my assertion that it cease and desist.
The report makes reference to the woman's 'frame', which leads me to believe she isn't exactly 'petit', could be some nut nut's dog went wild and attacked an innocent couples dog, they defend their dog / puppy / whatever and Chav woman comes over and starts getting gobby, Couple Fem gets gobby back and Chav wench smacks / goes to smack, and bloke gets involved to protect Wife.
Now, that COULD all be just Jackanory, but it does show how we should reserve final judgement until some unbiased facts are provided.

I think there could be more to it. Ive been walking my dog before and another small one (ie the same size) attatches itself to my dog with its teeth. They were running around the field like this when I was lining up to kick this dog into orbit, but luckily it let go and that was the end of that.

Dude, slight does mean petit.
Well.. apart from the usual fat Chav chick with pot belly spilling worth from her uncovered midrif, belly ring and all, there is the ubiquitous heroin junkie, scrawny malnourished type also..so of course this still applys

There speaks the voice of someone who hasnt seen the fighting force of some of the 'current crop' of women.
All it takes is one punch of her to your missus, and then what? you just ask her politely to stop? you 'hold onto her' as she bites you?
Agree, this is ONLY Devils Advocate, but it still needs people to stop jumping on the bandwagon at the earliest point.
Gaz, re: Slight... I was intimating that their reference to her frame, could be indicative of her having anything BUT a slight frame..
but as I said, noone knows the hard facts here..
It could equally be that the couple were a nutter couple out for a scrap.. BUT... it all started due to the WOMAN having her dog of its lead, and out of control.
either way, we dont know for sure, so lets chill.

Is usually said in retrospect, as in if you found out someone had keyed your car, you would loved to have been there. Not to enjoy see them doing it, but to give them the pasting they desrve.
In this particular instance, and being a dog owner, i would have loved to have been there myself.
