Wild animals in your house?

Has anyone had any wild animals in their house? Right now theres a damned pigeon in our kitchen and it cant work out how to go out the back door (which is open). I cant go in to push it out as it panicks and I dont want it to break a wing or anything. Having said that, I was tempted to let my Jack Russel meet it 
A couple of summers ago it was a warm evening. We were watching the telly in the living room. When I was going to bed I shut the patio door and the kitchen door and went up to my room. I got into my room and theres a fox curled up on the carpet. I looked at it for a second and then it bolted downstairs.. but it was trapped in because I had shut the doors. So I open the kitchen door, but its trapped in the living room. I left it to it for a while and eventually it made its way out through the kitchen. Luckily my dog was out, else it could have gotten messy. Weve had a few other incidents with pigeons and whatnot.
Anyone else had anything simillar?

We have a sort of opposite situation at the moment. We have a parrot (yes, a real one) living wild in our locale, now affectionately named 'Colin' by ourselves and neighbours. I understand from googling that there are actually many thousands of parrots believed to be roughing it wild in the English suburbs. This one has done well to survive the winter of West Yorkshire, oooop her in the snow of the Pennines. We have all taken to having him about and put out parrot food from the pet shop for him now. I just hope that he doesn't have the misfortune of meeting Tessie, our black and white cat.
Regularly get wild animals brought in to the house by the cat, this upsets the Girlfriend very much, it is usually a bit gory.
Worst one was a few years back when my previous cat (best ever) found a weasel populus nearby. Three mornings in a row i would go for breakfast to the most awful rank smell you can imagine and find one or two of these things under the kitchen table legs up and floppy.
So bad he wouldn't even eat them!

There's something absolutely terrifying about having a bird fly in your house. They're so damn quick and big, close up. It's not natural for the human or the animal - it's happened occasionally with us and turns a quiet evening into something resembling an African safari.
Blimy! A huge heron just flew past the window as I read that. Don’t fancy trying to get that out if got in.
Usually I have to perform the old card and glass trick to remove bees and wasps from our conservatory (Mrs C won’t go past them)

We've had that quite a lot - mostly pigeons (big wood pigeons, not the ponsy little ones), and a sparrow hawk hit one window at full pelt once. Normally birds that hit this window see it and try to miss it at the last moment, we can tell this because the mark they leave has their wings spread out. This poor hawk only left it's head on the mark. We put it in a cage overnight with water and a towel but it was dead by the next morning.
We haven't had that much in the way of wildlife inside our house, we had a pipistril bat years ago, a blackbird a couple of years ago and a squirrel at uni.

Best thing would be to put some food on the ground outside the back door where it can see it. It probably doesn't particularly want to go out, until you come in, which panics it. Put something that it wants outside and it'll probably go out for it.
We heard a scrabbling behind our fireplace once. After my dad pulled it away from the wall (after some serious dismantling) a big, black, sooty blackbird flew out. It flew round for a minute or two, bouncing off the walls before my dad got the patio door open and it flew out.
It left sooty marks all over my mums carpets, walls and new furnature. To say she wasnt best pleased was a bit of an understatement
