Dieselnut has been hammerite-ing the Robin hood and has got it on his hands... any idea how to shift it?!

Heh. been there done that



Thats underbody seal, and yep. I basically had to shower in white spirit.

Oh ., the one thing I don't have in the house... and it's Sunday .

And I bet it's one of these things that needs doing before it's dry...

we DO have it in the house, I'm supposed to be the woman of the house, yet it was me that bought it and me that knows where it is kept!

Cheers guys and gals ! Turps has shifted the lot (now why didn't I think to look in the back of the cupboard under the sink )

If I did that, I'd SERIOUSLY knacker my skin.

As I discovered when I used to mess about with model engines as a lad....the fuel almost destroyed my hands and white spirit, etc, does me no good at all, years on.....

Read the tin - you need cellulose thinners, not turps or white spirit. Diffrerent animal.

Hammerite isn't soluble in white spirit.

I usually give my hands a rub with a rag with a few drops of hammerite thinners on, then once it's dried a bit it (mostly) comes off with soap and hot water.
