..and how’s it best to manage this?
My eldest lad has got himself a girlfriend – he’s 14 and she’s 13. It’s the first time any of my kids have developed such an interest and I’m sure will present a whole host challenges to myself and my missus. In fact, we’ve got four kids and I’m guessing that the next 25 years will be interspersed with many G/F and B/F issues – as such, this is a new parenting chapter we’re entering. Oh bliss!
Anyway, we know the parents of the girl and they’re good people, so we’ve jointly laid down some “ground rules”.
Anyway, any experienced parents out there got any advice. I’m all ears!

My Daughter is 10, she has a boyfriend, this relationship consists of dancing together at the school disco and nothing more.
I had my first serious boyfriend at 14.
It is very important that this relationship is allowed to follow it's natural path, and that it's a mutually considerate one, I believe that our teen experiences in relationships equip us for later on.

depends on the kid, really.
I had a boyfriend when I was ten, but holding hands was as exciting as it got.
First proper boyfriend (i.e. snogging and 'going out' even though you never actually 'go out') maybe 14. That was the age for me and no one seemed to have a problem with it - especially me!
