Tonight 8:00pm Channel 4

I don't like Kilroy and I don't like gypsies, but I do like getting angry at the telly. As such, I might watch it on order to gain "ranting material".

By all accounts they cheated by finding some gypsies who owned their own land and were law abiding

Do you know him then? If so you can pass on a few more remarks about to self opinionated, arrogant, smarmy, greasy, self-serving enemy of the state. Please.

maybe soon i will know him, srebbe from what i have gleaned from your posts it seems to me that if there is a politician out there that will serve your interests well it is mr kiljoy himself. I really cannot understand why he is hated so much. He may be a bit orange and a bit smarmy but i would prefer him running this country to tiny blair so i think people should gie him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

Not a chance, he has pink plates in his kitchen and that is all I need to know about the man, wouldn't piss on him if he was burning.

I think he'd support any policies to serve his ego. Remember, not long ago he was a Labour MP, and now he's far more right wing than the Tories (and possibly UKIP) - as such, I don't think he's sincere in the slightest.

There's a principle in sales, "you have to sell yourself, before anyone will buy from you". RKS has failed to understand, or at best implement, this principle. If he can't even do this, then there's no way I'd want him in Number 10 running the country.

It was reported in the Cambridge Evening News that Kilroy actually spent the nights at the local Travelodge.

No doubt the pikeys will be on their best behaviour, all clean behind the ears. Inside loos, the hard-luck story and so on. Don't fall for it!

Are they actually PROPER Romany (Roma) gypsies though? I mean, are they decended from Eastern European gypsies who were in turn immigrants from India generations ago? Or are they just scummy cackers living in a caravan, breeding like rabbits and tarmacing your drive when you are at work without you knowing and then moaning about being a 'persecuted minority' (boo bloody hoo)?

I shall mostly be watching Holby City instead :freak:

Anyone notice that a load of Gypsies have parked up just by the main gate as you drive up to the Paddock at Donington.

Massively over simplifing things, there are effectively two kinds of these sorts of people.

Romany type gypsies, who speak a different language, tend to have some tradition based on caravan dwelling and try to own their own land these days( lots of them buy used pig farms, and tarmac them as the soil is over nitrated and cannot be used for anything else ) They don't move around much and tend not to cause much trouble compared to other poor people. You may not even be aware of a band of these types living close to you. The fashion these days is for them to build fixed prefab houses in little communities.

Traveller "crusty" type gypsies, who's traditions come from the migrant irish workforce employed by McAlpines to build the motorways ( hence the strong tradition of tarmaccing and migrant living ) Are purest scum, and live completely beyond the law. They to speak a different language, but it is based on corrupted irish and mainly involves types of stealing and discussing possible victims without their knowledge.( much as eskimos have many different words for snow )

Their main pastimes are nicking things and being caught and slapped gently on the wrist by soft magistrates. ( if they can even be found ) The classic con by these people is to steal something, and when caught with it, claim that they simply found it abandonded by another pikey. This offence carries no real weight in law, if it cannot be proved they actually stole it.

They will also destroy any facilities provided by local councils, even going so far us to dig up and sell copper piping carrying their own water supply to the camp.

The problem is the second group travel around, trashing "campsites" stealing and burning cars and being a massive embuggurance to local communities and getting lots of well deserved bad press.

Beacuse of this, you only really hear of the pikey side of things rather than the romany side of things, but believe it or not their are good travellers out there.

This is, as stated earlier a massive over simplification but it holds true. It is councils failure to distingush between these types that is the root cause of most problems.

I will be interested to see what kind of traveller Kilroy stays with. I suspect it will be the romany style as he found not last 5 seconds on a pikey camp.
